Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, the 1919 Walking Liberty Half dollar is one of the better date coin of the series. For an accurate assessment of value the coin needs to be seen and graded. In general retail values for low grade coins are $25.00-$90.00, better grade are $200.00-$600.00 and coins showing almost no wear run from $800.00-$1,330.00. Values are a market average and only for coins in collectible condition, coins that are bent, corroded, scratched, used as jewelery or have been cleaned have far less value if any to a collector or dealer.
No US silver dollars were minted in 1919. Production of silver dollars was suspended at the end of 1904 and not resumed until 1921. If your coin has a picture of Miss Liberty and a sun on the front, please turn it over and check the back. It's a half dollar, not a silver dollar. There's more at the Related Question.
