Standing Liberty quarters were minted from 1916 to 1930.

Please post a new, separate question with the coin's denomination. Miss Liberty appeared on dimes, halves, and dollars dated 1934, and other denominations have the word LIBERTY on them.
Check your date or denomination. Starting in 1932, quarters had George Washington on them.
The U.S. has never used an M mint mark. In addition, the only quarter to have an M in its design was the Liberty Standing quarter issued from 1916 to 1930; the M the designer's monogram (for H. A. MacNeil). If you have a 1934 quarter the mint mark position is on the back under the wreath. Blank = Phila, D = Denver (San Francisco didn't strike any quarters in 1934) Most Philadelphia issues range from $3.00 to $4.50 depending on condition, mostly for their silver content. If you have the so-called Light Motto variety, add about 10% to those numbers. A 1934-D sells for $5 to $15
7-31-11>> Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, retail values for coins in average condition are $4.00-$5.00. The 1934 Mercury or Winged Liberty Head dime is very common.
Various images of Miss Liberty appeared on US quarters from 1796 to 1930. No quarters were struck in 1931 due to the Depression. In 1932 a special commemorative quarter with the familiar image of George Washington was released in honor of his bicentennial. Plans were to resume the prior Standing Liberty design in 1933 or 1934, but the Washington design proved so popular that it was made permanent.
A 1934 Washington Quarter in good condition (G4) is worth: $3.50. If its mint state is MS60, the value rises to: $$45.

In 1932, a bust of George Washington replaced the Liberty Standing design of the US quarter (which was used from 1916 to 1930). No US quarters were minted in 1933, and the Washington image was used from 1934 to date. The design was intended to be a one-year commemorative in honor of the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth, but proved to be so popular that it was made permanent.
$5 to $100,000 depending upon the mint mark, which variety, and the condition of the coin.
I assume you mean you have a 1934 $1 bill with Washington's picture, rather than a silver dollar (it had Miss Liberty) or a quarter (Washington, but the wrong denomination). If that's the case, as of 01/2009 auction prices are in the $10.-$15. range.
The US has never made steel quarters. In 1934 quarters would have been made from 90% silver and 10% copper. They are worth at least $5 dollars for their silver content.
The 1934 Washington quarter is a high mintage issue. Most average circulated coins have retail values from $7.00-$10.00.
4-24-11>> Assuming the coin is circulated and has no mintmark, retail values are $8.65 to $13.80 depending on the grade.
