A British 1937 bronze Penny (George VI), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £6 GBP. If it has been circulated, not much.

A British 1937 bronze Penny (George VI)(Proof FDC), uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to £15 GBP.

The values quoted are the best possible for the best specimens in their grades, but may be significantly lower due to varying demand for the coin and the prevailing economic climate. A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation based on inspection of the coin.

You are asking about a 1/2 Penny coin from British West Africa (KM#18). The coin is made of Copper Nickel, measures 25.9mm in diameter (with a hole in the center), and weighs 5.66 grams. The obverse has a crown and denomination above the center hole and the denomination in Arabic below the hole. The legend "GEORGIVS VI REX - ET IND:IMP" (abbreviated Latin for "George the Sixth, King, and Emperor of India") also appears on the obverse. The reverse has a six-pointed star, the date, and "BRITISH WEST AFRICA".

The coin was produced at two different mints, both located in Birmingham, England. 4,800,000 were produced at the Heaton Mint (mintmark "H"), and an example is worth (accroding to the 2010 edition of the Standard Catalog of World Coins) US$0.40 in Fine condition, US$0.85 in Very Fine condition, US$1.50 in Extremely Fine condition, US$4.00 in Uncirculated condition, and US$7.00 in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. A small number of Proof examples, valued now at US$125.00 each, were also produced at Heaton.

5,577,000 of these coins were also produced at the King's Norton Mint (mintmark "KN"), and an example is worth US$0.40 in Fine condition, US$0.85 in Very Fine condition, US$3.00 in Extremely Fine condition, US$5.00 in Uncirculated condition, and US$9.00 in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. I am not sure why these should be more valued in the better conditions than those produced in Heaton (especially given the lower levels of production there), but such is the case.
