This is an antique high quality firearm. Howver, because of the damascus barrels it can not fire modern ammunition. To obtain a fair market value, find a reputable antique firearms dealer and get an appraisal. It is possible that if the condition is fine that a collector would value this firearm in acess of $1000. Let me add some here. With the Fine Damascus marking on your rib the gun may have been built by Lindner which would make your gun one of the best. Check for a crossed pistol stamp or the letters HAL stamped on the barrel flats or just ahead of the flats on the tubes themselfs. Your gun may be safe to shoot and many who enjoy old guns shoot Damascus barrel guns. The gun companies went to steel barrels in the old days because they were cheaper to make, not better. If in good shape it could be quite abit. If the gun has damascus barrels it could be built before or after 1892 and all the proof marks are needed to know for sure. On the barrels look for a mark of crossed pistols with maybe a HAL stamped under them. If they have this you own the best of all a Lindner Daly Diamond Grade.
$900-$1000

These were typically made by Sauer and imported under the Charles Daly name. Very collectable, and worthy of individual appraisal. Value is going to be determined by amount of engraving, overall condition, and features. Many of these drillings had a sliding bullet trap located on the bottom of the stock, pop-up rifle sights when the rifle barrel was selected, etc. Value could easily reach the $5000 mark. Please dont shoot it until you've had it looked at. May well have Damascus barrels, and using smokeless modern ammunition would be looking for trouble. We'd LOVE to see digital pictures of this one, and would be a buyer if it is to go to market. sales@countrygunsmith.net
Tough to say without some photos of the gun, especially the barrel flats, but Lindner most likely built it if it's Prussian.
