Visit Youtube.com and search "reassemble 1911". The commander model is the same as the government model, when it comes to assembly. There are variances depending on what accessories or upgrades you have on your 1911.
As a owner of a Colt Combat Commander LW - MK IV Series 70 Gov. Mod .38 Super, I have researched this question many times. Approx. Value = $900 to $1,000 Thats with the understand the pistol is considered to be in 'NRA Excellant'condition. Maybe a little less depending on your "Great Shape" definition. This valve will only continue to increase, say every 5 to 10 yrs. you should be able to add $50 to $100 (in my opinion) Shoot that fine pistol in good health. - jbp
