If the coin is gold-colored it's made of brass, not silver, and not gold. It's part of the Presidential Dollar series and it's only worth face value in circulated condition. Uncirculated, it might sell for $3.

The U.S. Mint has never issued a dollar coin with those dates on it.
What you have is a modern brass $1 coin issued as part of the Presidential Dollar series. If you found it in change it's only worth a dollar. The dates indicate the years that George Washington served as president. The coin's minting date is 2007 and is on the edge.

Take another look at that coin. The dates 1789-1797 are the years George Washington was President. John Tyler was President 1841-1845. Either way, it's a modern presidential dollar coin, worth one dollar.
