What is the value of a Sears pump shotgun Slug Model 446.511761 circa 1982 with a slug barrel and a 12 gauge modified cylinder barrel if the blueing and wood are 95 and the bores are excellent?
I do not have that particular model number in my cross-reference, but 1982 was at the very end of Sears gun sales. That, coupled with the interchangeable barrels, would just about convince me it is a Winchester 1200 as made for Sears. Those are normally seen as the Ted Williams Model 200 and that would be marked on the gun as well. Value would be as a shooter, and about 15% less than a Model 1200. So figure about $200-$250 for the set. www.countrygunsmith.net

The value of a Browning BLR (Lever action) is, as with all firearms, dependant upon several conditions. The condition of the firearm is the primary determining factor in its value, with the possible exception of collector guns. The BLR will vary in value depending upon its caliber as well. As of Feb. 2007, a .270 BLR I purchased was worth approximately $500.00, in good (but not excellent) condition. The particular gun of which I write… Read More

Guns come in various finishes to prevent rust and corrosion. Various types can be nickeled, painted, enameled, blued, or others. Guns that have been treated with "blueing" are the most common. They are the firearms you see with a black finish. The coating that they put on starts out as a blue-black liquid. Once the oxidation process is finished, it turns out more of a black color. Although, sometimes it can be a little brown… Read More
