Please check your coin again. No US silver dollars were minted in 1835, and the New Orleans Mint didn't open until 1838.

The market has been flooded with counterfeit dollars over the last 20 years or so, and some of them are very badly done. If your coin really purports to be an 1835-O dollar, you have one of those fakes, I'm sorry to say.
