The date is 1857 not 1837 It's a Flying Eagle one cent coin, that was only struck from 1856 to 1858
To clear up two things, that's EAGLE and it has to be 1857, not 1957. Assuming we're both discussing the same coin, an 1857 flying eagle cent is not out of reach for an average collector. As of 12/2008, a worn one sells for about $25 retail. With only moderate wear, $50; almost like new, about $150.
