In 2009 in the California, the price is roughly the same...a synthetic stocked .30-06 without a scope will run you $300. The scope package deal with synthetic stock, marine coat finish and cheap 3x - 9x scope will run $380 or so.

Yes. The action and trigger are smooth, the stock and marine coat finish are tough and the accuracy of my .30-06 is phenomenal for a $300 rifle (.60" 3 round group at 100 yds with 150 gr Hornady PSP over 51 grains of Varget for 2880 fps; my five round groups are usually .9 - 1.0").
You can check w/ Mossberg, or with havlinsales at their website- but the bad news is that a complete bolt will cost you about half of the value of the rifle, AND it should be fitted by a gunsmith. Sorry-
