Generally people refer to an oils viscosity by the number after the W
In your case the viscosity would be 40. Really both number are a measurement of viscosity. Without getting to involved... the 15 represents how well the oil flows at a cold temperature, also know as an oils winter weight. The 40 indicates how well the oil flows when the oil is hot.
15w40
Contrary to popular belief, mixing multi viscosity oils does not give you a set viscosity, only a mixture of several different viscosities.
Yes, you can mix conventional oil with synthetic oil with no problem.
hi brooklyn, the viscosity of motor oil is how quickly it flows
One quart of oil = 1.88 pounds The viscosity of the oil has no bearing on actual weight.
Only the weight of the oil, 20w 40 is thiker than the 15w40, 20w 40 is the best oil for the old cars although 15w40 is very easier cold start ...
Low viscosity oil flows easier when it is cold but become thinner when it is hot.
15 is thicker oil and for bigger engines.
Yes, I used it today.
if it si 15w40 engine oil
olive oil
ist real oil, from the thickness and weight, it sounds like its for a diesel engine
