26 shingles in a bundle of three tab asphalt shingles
what is the weight of a sq of 3 tab and a sq of arutectural shingles
A bundle of shingles weigh ~ 80lbs, so it depends if you are using 3-tab or architectual shingles. There are usually 22 shingles in a bundle of arch. and 26 in a bundle of 3-tab. Doing the division and arch shingle weighs ~3.63 lbs and a 3-tab weighs ~3.08lbs. The weight will very depending on the brand and style of shingle as well... Hope that helps you...
About 80 lbs.
70 pounds
each bundle does 33.3 sq ft.
There are 100 square feet. A "square" of any building material will cover a 10'x10' area. Don't mistake a bundle of shingles for a square, there are 3-1/3 bundles in a square. The coverage will actually vary. 3 1/3 bundles may be standard for a 3 tab asphalt shingle but other styles and materials will vary.
Depending on which manufacturer of starter shingles you prefer, you will get 100 linear feet, give or take a couple of feet for some brands. If using 3-tab shingles as a starter shingle, you will get roughly 78 linear feet per bundle.
3200
Usually 4 that information should be on the bundle
33' for 3 tab, 25' for architect Actually, most three tab bundles only cover 32 sq feet. And architectural shingles cover about the same (it varies from manufacturer). But architectural shingles have less waste since there's no exact pattern to follow(unlike the slots in three tab shingles). You can save your scrap cut offs if they're 4-5" long. Owens corning shingles allow 4-5" offsets. You just have to be careful of your nail pattern. Oh, about that coverage, some 50yr shingles only cover 25sq feet, but most are 33 sq feet. Basically, one bundle for every sheet of plywood.
It depends on the type of shingle. A traditional "three tab" shingle will cover 21 lin. ft. of ridgecap.
