Where the shell is loaded.
The breech is the rear of the barrel, where a cartridge would be loaded. The muzzle is the front end of the barrel. When fired, a bullet is driven up the barrel, and out of the muzzle.
right around the trigger as a rule The breach is located at the rear of the barrel. A double barrel shotgun that breaks open at the rear end of the barrel is a breach loading weapon. Another example of a breach loading gun would be an artillery piece that was loaded at the rear of the barrel.
What you are describing could be a rifle that is not loaded, partially loaded or fully loaded, but, does not have a round chambered.
The cartridges will pop out.
The breech area on any gun is the area where the pellet / bullet / BB is loaded into the barrel. The bullet stays here until the trigger is pulled.
There is no need to start a double barrel. A double barrel shotgun needs to be loaded like you would a single barrel shotgun only using two bullets. You then cock the gun, aim, and fire.
A 'muzzle loader' is any firearm (or cannon) which does not have a breech mechanism and which is 'charged' (loaded with powder and shot) from the muzzle end of the barrel.
There is no "break in" shotgun. A "break open" shotgun is a single barrel, double barrel, or combination rifle/shotgun which breaks open in the sense that a lever will unlock the action, allowing the barrel to pivot at a hinge at the front of the receiver, pivoting the rear of the barrel up to expose the chamber. A shells may be loaded into the chamber and the barrel pivoted back to close the action. The act to "break in" a shotgun means to fire it a few times to loosen it up.
The repeating rifle, the revolver, the Gatling gun, the breech loaded cannon, the breech loaded carbine (such as the Sharps).
It all depends on the model. Some use a clip. Some are loaded through the back of the barrel when it is broken open, others load through the breech.
Pull off the foregrip by exerting pressure from the front separating the stock from the barrel. Open the shotgun and the barel will separate. Pull down and separate the foregrip from the barrel. It is spring loaded. Open the action and the barrel will separate by lifting it to disengage the tang.
