The origin of Hinduism is unknown. The people in ancient India have followed Hinduism. Its been followed by people from several generations. There are holy books like VEDAs, Ramayan and Bhagavad Geeta but unlike Christianity or Muslim, Hinduism is not based on books. It is a naturally followed and spread religion. To be precise, Hinduism itself is a Dharma but not simply religion. So, it has no founder - no single book to be called equivalent to god.
