Black Magic Spells are considered to be negative spells that are cast to create harm, though the term black magic is actually a miss-wording. There is no black or white magic, magic is neutral, it's the intent of the caster that people use to label magic to make it easier to understand the difference between those who use magic to help (white magic) and those who want to cause harm (black magic).

All Magick is relative to the person performing it. What is important is the "intent" with which you work a spell. If it is to cause harm to another then it could be considered to be dark or malevolent. On the other hand, magick to fight disease could also be viewed as dark or "black" as the primary intent is to cause harm to the disease.

In truth, there is no black, white, or any other colour of Magick.. simply intent. And to answer your question, whether a magickal working (spell) works or not, is down to the intent you imbue your working with, the power which you channel into it, and most importantly, your own ability to recognise the outcome - spell results are not always what we *think* we wanted, but more often what we really needed deep down.

Before performing any kind of malevolent spell towards another, consider this... Every action in this world, has a re-action. Think of it like a ripple in a pool after a stone is dropped into it - eventually the ripples will affect every part of the water. Never do unto others what you would not wish upon yourself.

Magic is truly neither black nor white, as magic is based on the natural cycles of Earth's energy and planetary alignments; and magic is the utilization of this energy directed and charged with a purpose from the caster.

Magic is the manipulation of naturally occurring powers by the will of a practitioner. Like all other forms of power, magic is neither good (White) nor bad (Black), it just is. The ethical practice of magic eliminates the un-necessary labeling.

If you draw your magic in a harmful way or if you use your magic in a harmful way, the rest of the world would label that as "black magic". But then there are those out there who label ALL magic as black.

What the un-initiated don't "get" is that practitioners of magic work within the Rule of Three (That which you send out will return to you three fold). If you think about it, having to take responsibility for your actions tends to make you cautious. "Black" magic is as dangerous or in fact three times more dangerous to the practitioner as it is to the rest of the world.
