Veri means truth. Simili means likeness. Tude is state of being. Having verisimilitude is having the appearance of truth.
The quality of appearing to be real. Stage sets are not real, but they can have an astonishing amount of verisimilitude.
Realism in a story is when the events, characters, and setting closely mirror real life, emphasizing everyday experiences and ordinary people. It aims to provide a truthful portrayal of the world without fantastical elements or exaggeration, often focusing on themes like social issues, relationships, and personal struggles.
