A "weak chest" in past times meant that the person had tuberculosis, or consumption. Most times it was because of many people living closely together in a small home or apartment. It is very contagious.

weak lungs are a condition some people are born with some people have it some don't it can be mistaken as athsma but its nowhere near as serious. symtoms inculde

-having trouble breathing in moist air

- having a blockage in airways

- coughing uncontrollable

- loss of breathe without excersise

- loss of voice

- needing to breath in deeply.

it generally means that they either have smaller lungs than average or the lungs are unable to develop properly.
