Myou's Answer: Well my fourteen year old brother brought home homework just the other day with the same question on it, while I do not know the answer the options are
A.) an Earthquake
B.) a focus
C.) a Volcano
D.) a fault
So its not a Asthenosphere. Besides that the Asthenosphere is under the Lithosphere, which makes up the crust and outer mantle. While the Asthenosphere is below the crust and makes up the rest of the outer mantle. So the answer below is just incredibly wrong..
(end of Myou's answer)
ASTHENOSPHERE is a liquid rock [zone of weakness!]

a weak spot in the earths surface which magma comes out is called a volcano or earth leak
"Weak" areas of the earth's crust are called faults.
uhh
Geothermal presure.
The mid-Atlantic ridge.
In the crust the weak spot we have is the Magma Chamber. But, deep down to the mantle such weak zone is the Asthenosphere.
being a weak spot in the earths crust and magma seeped threw to make a super volcano. But just because its a hot spot does not mean it has to be a super volcano it was just a coincidence.

The answer to this question is called an active volcano.

A Volcano.

An active volcano, such as in the Hawaiian islands, is a weak spot in the Earth's crust.
"Weak" areas of the earth's crust are called faults.
A volcano is a weak spot in the Earth's crust. So when the lava and pressure built up from so many years dormant the weak spot in the Earth's crust couldn't hold it and it just shot up the volcano and spewed out lava.
earthquakes happen when sections of the earths crust shift. These shifting parts called plates, are actually pieces of the crust floating on the hot molten interior of the earth. The majority of earthquakes happen along the edges of those plates, and along weak areas of the crust called fault zones
