Best Answer

A weapons system engineer is a person who designs weapons systems or builds weapons systems. A weapons system may refer to a trigger assembly of a gun or a gun alltogether. For example the M4 is a weapon system. These engineers have designed barrel replacements, upper and lower register replacements and other modifications to make the gun better. Look at the AR-15. A bunch of weapons engineers made that together. Then on top of that made different modifications to give you the M4, M16, and other rifles. A weapons system engineer may have modified the M4 to give you the M4-A1, and so on.

System implementation is the creation and installation of the method to follow the engineering principals to remove part of the human element in the equation. Software engineering is a rapidly growing field.

What is the difference between mechanical engineering and systems engineering?

Software Engineering (SE) deals with building and maintaining software systems. It is more software-oriented and has a greater emphasis on large software applications than Computer Engineering. It is more applied than Computer Science, placing greater emphasis on the entire software development process, from idea to final product. It is also more disciplined than Computer Science, applying more systematic practices to help ensure that products are reliable and safe. Systems Engineering (SE) is an interdisciplinary field of engineering, that focuses on the development and organization of complex artificial systems. Systems Engineering integrates other disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort, forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation and disposal. Systems Engineering considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers, with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user needs.

I know i want to major in engineering and i want to work in the development of firearms and weaponry. What area of engineering is involved in the development and fabrication of firearms and weaponry?

Firearms would normally be mechanical engineering. But, weaponry can be a wide array of things such as nuclear weapons, missiles, smart bombs, tanks, aircraft, etc. all of which use multiple engineering disciplines.

What is the different between industrial engineering and systems engineering?

System engineering is concerned with developing requirements of a system, and then planning the work of design, production and operation of the system. We can say system engineering work is completed when the system is in operation. Industrial engineering is concerned with the efficiency of the system and also with human effort involved in operating the system. In a system design and installation, number of functional engineering disciplines and specialized engineering disciplines are involved. Industrial engineering is a specialized engineering discipline involved in system design and installation. Industrial engineering also evaluates and improves efficiency of systems over a period of time as they are into operation.

Do mechanical engineers invent weapons?

I'm not near college, but I am fairly aware of these things... There is a career titled "Weapons Engineer", as there are different types of weapons and such, you would need different backgrounds in engineering. Mechanical Engineering: This leans more towards hand-held weapons (handguns, assault rifles, etc.) but it can also mean mounted weapons (.50 calibers) Electrical Engineering: This will lean more towards radar, radar jamming, smart weapons, etc. Now the bigger your looking for (missiles, rockets) the more you will want to think about Aerospace Engineering... I hope that, that had answered your question... but like I had said I'm not near college... I am in the 8th grade, but I want to do something of engineering or architecture so I am well read up on this.
