Take it to the dealer. They have check out charts. This happened to me in a 96 Monte Carlo. The dealer did not have time to look at it - we were on a road trip out of town - but suggested it might be the key. Ours has the chip in it - maybe your does, too? He said it might be going bad. At any rate, we changed to the spare and the light went out and stayed out. That was over a year ago, so sounds like he was right!
Low refrigerant charge
I'm going out on a limb, but it seems the only possible disadvantages of light in photography are an improper intensity, amount, quality of diffusion or source position of it, unless you are using photographic materials to capture EMR (electromagnetic radiation) outside of the visible spectrum.
This problem is caused by the GM Theftlock system which is a security system that whenever the ignition is tampered with the vehicle cuts off fuel and refuses to start. The problem with this system is that there seems to be an issue in many GM vehicles where the system is faulty and constantly is tripping the system at random leaving owners stranded. The quick solution that is located in your owners manual is to leave your key in the "ON" position for appx 10 minutes until the "Security" or "Theft System" light stop blinking and become solid... then turn the key to "OFF" and attempt to restart the vehicle. This has never failed for me.. but is becoming annoying. My mother drives a 2004 Grand Am SE1 V6 and it has just started this problem... also I own a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu which started with this problem a few years ago which finally got fixed when I had my mechanic completely replace and re-key my ignition.. which may not be a solution for everyone.. but I am glad it worked for me.
According to modern science, it seems that nothing can move faster than light in a vacuum. However, some things can move as fast as light (or electromagnetic waves). Specifically, gravity waves (carried by hypothetical gravitons) are also expected to move at the speed of light. Neutrinos move very, very close to the speed of light, so do some of the particles from outer space known as "cosmic rays".
Check the coil packs. And I know this sounds not normal, but check for fuel in the tank. Check the fuel line and filters. I am assuming that it sounds normal when it turns over. If not, check the timing belt. Make sure that when you attempt to start, the security light doesn't come on; if it is it might be a nats problem, meaning you inserted a wrong key in the ignition causing the ecu to lock. If you can give me a bit more info, I could hopefully be more specific.
i have a 96 Monte Carlo and i had the same problem. try pulling the turn signal switch to you slightly while in the signal position. works for me every time.
Your cabin filter seal is missing or the seal fell down to where it doesn't deflect water from the inside of yhe car .
If you disconnect your battery for 10-30 minutes (cannot remember) it will -clear- the computer...but not reset it. Afterwards, drive approximately 75 miles. That seems to be the consensus I get from people who also work on their own cars. That'll reset the computer and, after a repair, the new codes will let you know what you broke and what else was broken =D
Turn key on and leave it on for ten minutes then it will go out and it will start. It thinks it is being stolen. Just did it to mine. Seems to reset the security system.
I am having the same issue with my 95 Monte Carlo... from what I've read the likely problem is the turn signal combination switch... seems to make sense to me... I thought about wiring the third brake light to the rear lights.. but that will make the turn signal not work... I'm going to have to take to a dealer
The remaining gas/temperature/compass display has not turned on since last night. Occasionally it takes a few moments to start but definitely not for an entire day through multiple trips. On top of this, the AC seems to be frozen on one setting even if I change it dramatically. Sometimes it does freeze for a few minutes but it always seems to reset itself. Now it seems like the entire computer system is frozen.
Why does all the gauge lights come on while driving a 1998 S-10 pick-up.Seems to lose power. Go out and security light stays on.
Which warning light is it?
my girlfriends brothers car doesnt have that problem http://www.totalrecallinfo.com
I wouldn't fix it if i was you.....I have a 2000 alero, and the security system (passlock) keeps it from starting often, and it seems to be a big problem with them. So if your security system isn't working but the car is running fine I wouldn't mess with it..
The anti theft device located in the key chip/security system, is supposed to shut down the starter and the fuel pump if the wrong key is used. Either your Anti theft is messed up or your key isn't allowing the proper code for the fuel pump. I had the same problem with a '96 monte. Bypassing the security system is not a very good option. The VAT actually kills the ICM in the car not shut down the fuel pump like most people think. Your best bet is to either get a new key made (about $40) or find out what your key resistor OHM is and then placing a resistor of matching value on hte wiring between the ignition and the security box. That is what I ended up doing and now it works fine with a non resistor key.
If you are referring to the Security Life of Denver Insurance Company, it seems to be owned by ING.
