If you are using a regular version just upgrade your router with the latest firmware.
(Google keywords: wpn824 firmware > preferably use the link that's from netgear's own website...)
however if you use the UPC or other cable internet provider's version, you need a modded firmware...
read up on it on google... (keywords: hex edit WPN824 firmware)
first, you need to pay company such as att, Verizon, comcast to let you have internet, second, they will give a modem that has a router built in already, if not you need to get one yourself. remember there are two types of modems, first one is modem with built in router and one without router.Yesh
WRT54G is a nice 4 port wireless router. Been around for years. You can either find them at Walmart, or online, maybe Ebay. They do run about $50.00 but you can never go wrong with Linksys. They are a division of "Cisco" systems, the leader in router technology.
My internet is slow. I need to be online 24 hours. I think there is something wrong with my earthlink net router.
There could be wireless interference between you and your router. There could be some kind of problem with your modem, internet, cable, etc. Go to the test connection page, try connecting and message me what the problem is.
Yes you still need a router t hook up your wireless printer, but it's the same router you have that gives you wireless internet access for your laptop. The router is the Wireless Access Point (WAP) that allows all the wireless devices to connect together and gets it on the wireless system. Hope this helps.-----Not necessarily…Wireless printer can be set up in 2 ways.1. Infrastructure2. Ad-HocTo set up the infrastructure, you need a wireless router where the printer can be used in more than one computer wireless and you can also use security levels in the router… in this case the computer can have wireless internet connected while trying to use the printer wireless…For Ad-Hoc the printer can be set up with the computer without a router.., the printer need to be set up once but the connection should be activated every time when you want to print something…- Bennettjdavis
1. They are not the same. 2. A modem is a device used to send information to and receive from another computer or network. Modem stands for MOdulator/DEModulator and is normally used to send over phone lines. There are other applications (like satellite links, etc). 3. A router does just what it says. It routes signals on a network. One in a home application is normally used to share one access point to the internet between multiple computers. This is a bit of a simple answer but hopefully you get the idea!
There are multiple reasons for that. The router you are trying to connect to might have MAC-filtering running, or your firewall does not have appropriate destination port open. Or you have wrong drivers and so on.
A wireless security camera can be bought online from amazon or eBay for a significant lower price. However, you get what you paid for. I would not be frugal about spending on a wireless security camera ensuring that it works right. Remember, if you do purchase one from online, there are no customer service if something goes wrong.
it is either old or there is something wrong with it go to vodaphone or something and check
First, make sure you have an internet connection. Turn on your PS3 and go to Settings>Network Settings>Internet Connection Settings. Choose Easy, then choose what kind on connections you are using. Wired means there is a physical wire going from your modem or router directly to your PS3. Wireless means you have a wireless router and you are connecting without a wire. When using a wireless router, be sure to choose your router's name and press X. Then, if you have one, enter your network's passkey. If not, select "None" on the screen that asks you for your connection's security. Then press X to confirm and again to test your connection. The next screen will show you the progress of the connection test. Everything should check out, and the NAT type should be 1 or 2. If it is 3, that means something is wrong with your connection. NAT Type 1 means that you are connected directly to the internet, which is most common in wired connections because there is no median in the connection. This will also produce the least amount of lag when playing online games. NAT Type 2 means that your connection works, but there is a median. This is usually only in wireless connections because the system has to go through a router before it can get online. NAT Type 3 means there is a problem with the connection and that you will have difficulties in your connection, whether it is in the store, downloading software and updates, or playing online. If your NAT Type is 3, contact your internet service provider and ask if their service is recommended for online gaming
Most internal networks are behind a router; security problems can exist because the router may not be configured properly, especially if it contains a builtin firewall or offers other services such as DNS or DHCP. There are other ways to cause security problems by misconfigured DMZ areas, internally compromised systems, and placing wireless access points at the wrong place in the network behind the router, for example.
From a personal point of view, you can't go far wrong with Netgear kit - but whether it is the "best" is debatable. Check out some of the review sites for yourself as your priorities might be different from other people. No one here would have used all types of router to give you the "this one is best" answer.
