Take a 12v tester and check for power at the switches; if there is no power, and the circuit breakers are working, open up the wire harness that goes thru the door jamb, it is possible the you have a broken or frayed wires . The drivers door controls are master controls so if they loose power the entire system goes down. I hope this helps you. Mark
Loose wire?
Check the fuses.
Check under the hood for any "fusible links" that may have blown.
Check fuses Might be a bad ignition switch
If you have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country check the wiring harness underneath the driver
In the power distribution box in your engine compartment of your 1997 Ford Explorer there is a 30 amp maxi-fuse in location # 10 , for your power seat(s) , power windows and power locks . Ford recommends disconnecting the battery before servicing anything in the PD BOX , which would mean that your Explorer would have to relearn its idle , the clock would need to be reset etc.
The drivers door window switch is the master; all power runs thru it first. check the breaker if that is good, I would pull the switch at the drivers door and test both sides of ot; it may just be a loose connection. Power locks are a unrelated/seperate circuit.
It could a fuse on your fuse panel for power widows, it should be a larger fuse possible meltal one, possibly a 20 amp, and power doors could be a circuit breaker/ or fuse at the starter motor relay, in the wiring.
The wiring harness goin into drivers side door switch control may have a broken wire from the door opening / closing.I have encountered similar problems w/ 1995 grand cheokee. look in door jamb for broken wire beneath sheath.
It depends what is wrong with them.
mine does the same thing. no clue!
sounds like your fuse has gone out , might want to check it , use your owners manual to locate and use proper procedure for removal
