The cause of the key sticking in the ignition, after the car is turn off. This is caused by the button on the gear shift knob, not coming out all the way or sticking.
Turn the ignition key into position 1. Push and hold the odometer reset button (use your left hand). Move the ignition key to position 2. When the service light begins to blink, let go of the odometer reset button. Confirm the reset by turning your Volvo S40 off then on again.
