Well this is an opinon, and everyone's answer would be different. Some people will utterly despise it. Transgender people sometimes have trouble just going to the bathroom because of discrimination and people don't want them going to the bathroom of their changed sex, yet they can't go to their previous one, so it gets difficult. Other people though, will be supportive, and kind, and treat them just like human, mainly due to...they are human. By definition, being transgender is having a disorder, yet unlike most disorders, this one seems to be unacceptable to many. In my personal opinion, it seems unfair to discriminate someone due to a disorder they were born with, and can't cure. The only thing to make a transgendered person feel better (cuz it's hard enough feeling trapped inside their own body) is to just accept them, and let them be free. Let them cross over to their desired gender. In my opinion, there is no shame in either sex, so why shouldn't one be allowed to choose which one they wish to be.
Being this is an opinion, I myself am not. I'm sure there are many who are though. But in my own opinion, what's really the harm? She's not doing anything illegal so what's so bad about it?
