Well, your knowledge is incorrect. The majority of the citizens of Mauritius are Hindu (50.4%). Muslims in Mauritius are only 16.6% or roughly one-sixth of the population. As to whether that population is Sunni or Shiite, most of the Muslims on Mauritius are Sunni (around 95% of all Muslims in the country).
