Anything can do it. If you leave your radio on when your waiting on someone, or many people have problems with their door hinges on the 90's thunderbirds so this prevents the doors from closing all the way. Mine used to do it all the time. I had to change the hinges and the clips on the inside of the door panels.

Check underneath of the battery box.. Take out battery and remove the box/tray that holds it.. It should be in plain view there...
