Best Answer

1)Britain holding out in the Battle of Britain. Had it not, the Germans and Italians could have used all their power against Russia, probably defeating the Russians, then eventually going to war the United States.

2)Russia not falling. Had Russia been beaten, the Axis could have then used all their power against the western powers (US&UK).

3)The US joining the war. The US Industrial, Economic, and Military power was probably the most important factor in the allied victory. Without the US, the allies likely would not have succeeded. The US gave the allies all kinds of equipment and money to fight the Axis in the Lend-Lease Act.

What led the way for Allied forces to attack Japan?

During World War II, Japan's initial offensives were wildly successful, and the Allies were on the retreat throughout the Pacific. After several key victories, however, the Allies soon began their own series of attacks. Perhaps the most important "key" victory was the American victory in the Battle of Midway (in June of 1942), which blunted Japan's carrier force and bought the Allies valuable time to gather their resources for offensive action.
