Fra Filippo Lippi (1406-1469) was one of the most famous fresco painters of his generation. Among his famous paintings are The Coronation of the Virgin, a 1441-47 tempera on panel that is located in the Uffizi art museum in Florence.
In the Coronation, the scene is overflowing with angels, donors, saints and clerics, but Lippi masterfully uses perspective so that the work doesn't appear overcrowded or unrealistic. It's one of the most famous Renaissance paintings.
