Since I just had this surgery done 3 days ago, I can answer this question. You willl have a compression bandage and cast over the dressings on your lower arm... fingers are free. It is thick and heavy. Mine will be on 10 days before the dressing will be changed, then I can begin (hopefully) therapy. My Dr. told me I would be off from work for 3 -4 wks. With my profession, I told work 4 wks. You have to keep your arm elevated most of the time to avoid swelling. The pain is like a dull toothache...not too bad, but annoying. Hope this answers your question.

No, ganglion cysts are not dangerous at all. (I have a ganglion cyst in my wrist).
A degenerative cyst on the right ulnar styloid is pain on the wrist opposite the thumb. This is typically a ganglion cyst which can be treated without surgery.

I have a ganglion cyst in my wrist, and I personally know two people with cysts- one has a ganglion cyst on the side of her wrist and one has a ganglion cyst on the top of her hand. One can also get cysts in other places of the body (especially near joints), but I'm not sure if cysts in other areas are also called "ganglion cysts".
A ganglion cyst is a swelling or tumor on a joint or tendon sheath. It can occur anywhere there is a tendon. It has been called Gideon's Disease or a Bible Cyst or a Bible Bump.
Yes. My father had a golfball sized ganglion cyst on the top/outer side of his foot. It was eventually removed with surgery. The cyst itself was not painful, nor did it limit his movements in any way.
