It all depends on how many rats you are getting. If you get one i think the cage can be a small one but i think it should at least have two levels. I live near a pets mart teat has a small two leveled cage.
If you get two rats the cage should around double the size of the one rat cage. And so on.
But if you don't understand this then go to the following link:

kill the rat
you should probably get a cage that doesn't have big gaps and that locks tight and don't stick it hi up and close to an edge because the cat and or cats could knock it over
Just use a large bird cage, or a rabbit cage. My rat has a rabbit cage, and she's as happy as can be. My old rat had a bird cage, and he was perfectly fine.
Yes! very!
You should house your pet rat in a cage with aspen shavings for bedding. A water bottle and a food dish. Don't put the cage in direct sunlight or near any drafts. It is best if you 2 get rats at one time so they can keep each other company while you are not home to play with them. You can put some toys in the cage for your rat to play with. The cage should be 2 feet by 2 feet by 1 foot for each rat you own.
Every day you should scoop out any turds that you see. Once a week you should throw out all the litter in the cage and wash and dry the cage. Then put in new litter.
No. Hamster rat cage don't have enough space to pet rats. You can use Midwest Critter Nation rat cage. It has plenty of space to play and move around. You can check the reviews here- bestratpoisons. com/rat-cage-for-2-rats
You should not keep a rat and a mouse on the same cage together, The rat will most likely kill the mouse as that is their natural instinct.
A cage.
If you trained it, you should be able to call its name, so it comes. If not, choose a food your rat like and set it out, keep the cage open so the rat can get in!
Yes
They nibble on food, fingers, and almost anything you put in their cage. You can put a wooden block in your rat's cage for them to chew on. Never put you finger in a very fiesty rat's cage or it will bite you and it will hurt. Badly.
