What kind of dog should you get if you want a dog that doesn't bark and doesn't need a lot of exercise and is smallish?

Any small dog is bound to bark on occassion; it's all about how you train it when you first bring him or her home. In general, most small dogs (i.e. Shi-tzu's, Maltease, Bichon Frise, etc.) don't require excessive excersize, compared to a dog of a larger breed. The best advice would be to check out your local breeder and do some reaserch online about some small dogs that you think might be best for you.
