The 5.0L 305 V8
Look under the dash to the left of the steering colunm. Its not the easiest thing to get to but that is where it is.
Chevy didn't offer a 350 in an 86 Camaro, but if they did, it would theoretically work in an 87 Caprice.
While your standard 5.0 liter (307 cubic inch) engine will fit into your '86, you can put a larger or smaller engine in there. I have seen an '86 with an 8.2 liter (502 cubic inch) engine in it, taken from a 70-75 Eldorado and I have done the same with my '87 Fleetwood Brougham.
well my 86 caprice is a 305 also and its a 5 quart capacity. so I'm goin out on a limb an guessing the 90 caprice is also a 5 quart capacity also. well my 86 caprice is a 305 also and its a 5 quart capacity. so I'm goin out on a limb an guessing the 90 caprice is also a 5 quart capacity also.

Could be the the V6 or the V8 engine but, the ECT sensor should be next to the thermostat housing or on the drivers side of the engine between the back two spark plugs.
Not likely since the 93 Caprice 305 was fuel-injected and the 86 Monte Carlo 305 was carbureted
I put 275 25 24 on my 86 box chevy caprice
