He was born in Charles County, Maryland in 1866. He was a farming family and the blacks were being abused by the Ku Klux Klan AKA K.K.K. He then later moved North to Washington D.C. His mother died and his father could no longer provide for him so he moved in with his grandfather. After some time he too could no longer provide for him so he got a job at a restaurant owned by Janey Moore. He lived there and she was nice but he was still not happy and decided to get a job as cabin boy. There I told you more than you needed to know :D
