Other common goldfish would be best. Putting fancy goldfish in with common ones often leads to food competition and fin nipping. And as for other species of fish, its best to stick goldfish with other goldfish.
No fish should every be kept in a bowl. The important thing is to follow the basic rules of sucessfull fish keeping. Those rules are. :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If you do all the above, feed the fish morning and evening and keep it/them at the correct temperature your fish stand a chance of survival. If you fail in any of them I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and will live shorter lives than they should.
Weather Loach can go in the same tank as goldfish, they are about the only ones that can put up with all the waste that goldfish produce.
The bonus with loach are, they help keep your tank clean too.
Assuming you have quite a large aquarium to house singletail goldfish, you can house a comet with most other varieties of goldfish except bubble-eye or telescope varieties due to their delicate nature. You can also add a bristlenose pleco, or even apple/mystery snails. But, a comet requires at minimum a 20 to 30 gallon aquarium just for one due to size potential, and the need for swimming space.
Besides other goldfish (if you have a big enough tank), you can consider a weather (dojo) loach, a bristlenose pleco, or even an apple or mystery snail
Koi can live with goldfish, but may eventually outgrow the pond.

Just about any fresh water fish. If they are smaller than the other fish they will be eaten if they can't hide in rocks or something. I had goldfish and mosquto fish in an outdoor pond and it worked.
I have 2 mud turtles in my backyard pond with a dozen goldfish and small koi. The turtles are too slow to catch the fish but sure wiped out the snail population...
