Those things that could be hunted or trapped such as bear, deer, hare, squirrels, wild fowl, ducks, geese and turkey.

The Lenape were hunter - gatherers. They hunted deer, bear, birds, and small mammals. They also ate eggs, if they were available. Fish and shellfish were a mainstay of the Delaware people's diet. They were known to dig tubers, gather berries, nuts and seeds, as well as wild plants for food and medicine. They became good farmers and grew the 3 sisters (corn, beans and squash - although their squash was more akin to pumpkins).
