The United Kingdom has a constitutional monarchy.

There has never been a full rebellion against the monarchy, as in most other old monarchies e.g. France, Russia, and Britain has never been forced to give up its monarchy e.g. German Empire.

While there is some unhappiness with the monarchy, most UK citizens don't feel strongly enough about republicanism to warrant a change.

The other side of the government is the a parliamentary democracy.
The British system of government is a form of Parliamentary Democracy.

technically England has a constitutional monarchy, which is a a form of government in which a monarch acts as head of state within the perimeters of a written (i.e., codified), unwritten (i.e., uncodified) or blended constitution. However, realistically England simply has a first past the post democratic system of parliament. The Head of state is purely for ceremonial purposes now, i.e. the Queen has no power. She has no mandate to make any laws as she is not an elected body, and therefore is just a figure head and, ultimately, a diplomatic tool, with which the country can pacify countries by sending the head of state to ceremonial events, freeing up time for the elected body to actually govern.
