What information are you trying to convey about the life and death of the worms?

If you are showing the proportion of the worms observed that lasted each life time, then proportion tell you to use a pie chart.

If you are showing the number of worms that lasted each life time, then each tells you to use a bar chart.

If there is a relation and you have data on the relation, then relation tells you to use a line graph (just like a temperature graph showing the conversion between oC and oF).

If you are trying to relate something about the worms to their life (eg amount of food eaten) then trying to relatetells you to use a scatter graph.
