convection causes the heat transfer.
The angle of the sun's rays is one of the major causes of temperature changes on Earth.
continental drift
Electromagnetic waves from the sun heat the ground in a certain area, say, a parking lot. The hot parking lot transfers some of its heat to the air above it. Eventually, a "bubble" of warmer air is created and, since heat rises, it begins to ascend. When this happens, the cold air around the "bubble" of hot air rushes in to fill the space left by it. The rushing air is wind. (at least, that's what my 5th-grade textbook said)
Pole. Specifically the North and South Poles. :)It is one of the factors that cause what we know as weather. Wind, ocean currents and evaporation, and clouds. Uneven heating works with the earth's rotation, upon the the land and seas to cause weather patterns flowing across the earth. It causes convective flows that are the major source of the Earth's winds.Convection occurs when air is heated and rises, then is cooled and sinks again. Uneven heating works with the Earth's rotation to cause weather patterns flowing across the earth. This creates unique climates based on the location of land and water areas.

Our planet is warmed by conduction (heat from the mantle below), convection (tropical heat is transferred to the poles by wind and currents) and radiation (primarily the warmth of the sun, though there's also radioactive decay occurring in our planet's core).
It causes UV to enter the earth. these are fatal rays of the sun.
The distance from the Earth to the Sun is not a major component of the causes of the seasons.A more important factor is the inclination of the axis.See the answer to "What causes the Earth's seasons?"The Earth is far enough from the Sun that a minor change in it's distance would not cause a significant change in the tempature.
Poor farming practices as well as over grazing by livestock are two major causes for desertification.
