In Asia there was the Steppe horse known also as the Asiatic Wild horse or the Przewalskii. In Eastern Europe there was the Plateau horse or Tarpan. Then there was the Forest or Diluvial Horse,a massive, slow creature that lived in northen Europe. The Tarpan and the Przewalskii are responsible for the lighter horses, while the Forest, which is now extinct, unlike the other two, is the ancestor of the heavier breeds.
