One new area where many young people wanted jobs was radio. Not all of the jobs paid very well, but the excitement of working in a new mass medium and possibly becoming famous was very appealing. In addition to trying to become radio singers or announcers, young people were getting jobs in various business offices, at newspapers and magazines, in department stores, and in movie theaters; those who lived in areas where manufacturing was strong might get work at a factory or learn a skilled trade like Plumbing or carpentry. Depending one your education, you might also try to find work as a law clerk, or a nurse, or a teacher, but these required a college degree (something more young people were trying to attain).

I'm pretty sure people had more jobs so they were able to pay for their houses.
Some jobs for the women were building cars, construction, ext. Some jobs for the children however, were different, they were "newsies" or sold newspapers, they worked in hard conditoned factories, they also would sell old things suck as their old toys, or clothing, just to get food on the table. Ps: is that all you need?
