Subjectively there were thousands of lessons learned. Objectively there were hundreds learned. Here are some of the major reasons.

  • Do no allow evil, maniacal rulers come to rise
  • Destroy fascism, communism and all other oppressive governments who intend on taking over other nations (reason for going after North Korea and North Vietnam)
  • You must allow your budget to fund the military improvements and be ready at all times
  • Believe the overwhelming news coming from some places in the world where genocide is reported and put a stop to it. (They did know the Jews were being killed but not on the level of genocide that was being done to them. The Allies were furious when they realized the death toll was over 6 million Jews, Gypsies, Slavs, "unwanted" and political prisoners and POWs.)
  • Nations and Superpowers must stay ahead on technological advances and keep an eye on "enemies".
  • Do not always trust your allies because they will go against you sometimes in the end.
  • Treat your enemies well at the end of the war. Teach forgiveness, peace and self rule.
  • Pay back your war debts so you have assistance in the future too.
  • The Home Front is a primary reason the war front succeeds in its task and responsibility.
  • People must get behind their military armed forces people even if they disagree with their government.
  • If your nation is doing bad and has an awful leader such as Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin or even Osama bin Laden (not a nation leader) you must do everything you can to stop him and not obey him.
  • The Jews learned to stand up for themselves from now on.
  • Promote medical and surgical advances for the sake of the armed forces.
  • (This was learned more after Vietnam: Do not fight the last war with the old ways and methods in a new war. They did learn not to do that in WW2 but failed to remember it for the Vietnamese war.)
  • Resolve worldwide problems at the UN level rather than at a war level.
