hydraulic lifter non roller
water temperature in 85 corvette

On intake manifold.
It depends, but it could be the lifters. If you have hydrolic lifters, they will lose oil when they are not run and "collapse". It will take some running time for the lifters to refill with oil (not sure how long exactly - ten minutes?). If the sound goes away after a little while, it might have been the lifters.
the lifters may need adjusting or replacing. your engine not getting enough oil causes the lifters to make noise. not sure what motor you have in it but if it's an engine where you can tighten the lifters then you can buy a tool for it if you know what your doing
YES, Unless someone has installed a solid lift cam sometime are another.
Valve adjustment is generally a thing of the past after the introduction of hydraulic lifters (no adjustment). In 1994 your engine should have hydraulic lifters and are not adjustable.
Gm does not use inertia switches.
