Victorinox offers a lubrication agent which is probably most ideal as they are very trustworthy and a producer of the Swiss Army Knife. I recently found my Victorinox Explorer in an old tool box. It was fine for a few day but the main blade began to open and close with almost a grind. Without any proper knife lubrication product I took the advise of a couple people on YouTube. I soaked it in 70% isopropryl alcohol for 30 minutes and then applied a generous amount of WD40. It now opens and closes better than ever, but this method is not recomended if you use the knife for food preparation as you will ingest toxic chemicals. I am waiting to purchase Victorinox lubricating oil to finish the job.
There are mixed opinions on using cooking oil on the knife but with a life-time warranty I am willing to experiment.
Any oil works.
Oil.
Oil it. - Wash off any dirt in clean soapy water, especially anything that has got in the mechanism. - Dry it on a paper towel. - Apply a little light machine oil, move the blades back and forth a few times. - Then remove the excess oil with a paper towel.
Try to put oil into fork and knives and try to hold it. The state of the forks and knives covered in oil is called reduced friction. 0 friction means there is nothing, no force to stop the fork and the knives from falling off your hand and sliding through any object. Therefore, you need friction in order to grab and forks and knives and hold onto it.

Sharpening steel knives and tool blades. It is also known as an oil stone.
Yes I have one but don't know the value?? Who does??
what kind of oil is used
There is no reason Japanese knives should not be sharpened as knives from any other place. This misconception may arise from a coating some companies put on their knives (which can be rubbed off), or the fact that top-quality knives are Damask steel. Damask steel is steel that has been folded several times (occasionally several hundred or even several thousand times). If folded enough, this steel essentially does not dull, so there would be no point to sharpening knives of this sort.

Silicone oil. Is it right?
