With engine oil filter change :
The 3.0 "Vulcan " V6 engine takes ( 4.25 litres / 4.5 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
The 3.0 " Duratec " V6 engine takes ( 5.2 litres / 5.5 U.S. quarts of 5W-20 )
R134a
To replace the 1996 V6 Mercury Sable climate control and take out the old control, you will need to remove the covering below the steering wheel and dashboard. Then, access the climate control in the instrument panel and remove the old control.
You Will Have To Take To A Dealer. Best Of Luck
Take out the battery.
Unless it has been converted over to R134 it came with R12. I suggest you convert it to R134a. R12 is very expensive.

take off the metal covers unscrew the screws pull it out from the top
