It shouldn't be that hard. Maybe you are low on power steering fluid. Or the pump could be bad.
The do it yourself method of removing old power steering fluid and refilling is gradual. With the vehicle off use a turkey baster to siphon off old fluid from the reservoir. Refill it and a few days later repeat the process. This will by successive dilution charge the system with fresh fluid. There are also professional services which use a machine or disconnecting lines to flush out fluid.
The Mitsubishi power steering dipstick in most trucks is located to the left of the engine. There is no color to let you know that's what it is. It is about 3 inches above the container which holds the power steering fluid.

The power steering fluid recommended is Mopar
Remove the plug on the bottom of the power steering fluid pump. Drain the power steering fluid out. Replace the plug to the bottom of the power steering pump. Replace the power steering fluid.
