If you have your period you are not pregnant. The fetus needs th lining to survive. Signs of pregnancy include nipple tenderness, breast hardness and swelling, nausea, bloating but these signs are also from hormone surges. At implantation the "spotting" is less than one pad of bright red blood lasting 1-2 hours. This occurs when the fetus implants into the wall of the endometrium. take a ten dollar urine test if you are unsure the blood will not interfere with the results. good luck Joymaker rn
