Usually there is either a pull off or twist of cap that you must remove in order to put oil into your motor. This cap has and oil weight recommendation on it like 5w30. It also should have letters on it like se sg etc. Regardless of the brand of oil you buy, just make sure the letters inside the circle on the back of the quart of oil bottle matches the circle with letters that are on the cap you remove from your motor to put the oil. Usually on the back of the quart of oil it says for high revving 4 cylinder engines etc! Just read what the oil is best for on the back, see if it matches up with your car etc.

Depending on what engine, Deisel or Gas, There are different API standards to go by (CF-4 for deisels & SL for gasoline). The Deisel Volkswagon Jetta calls for a 5W-40 CF-4 synthetic oil, and the gasoline engines call for a 5W-30 SL synthetic oil. Volkswagon recommends the use of Castrol 5W-40 SL Full Syntheticin the gasoline as well.
A 2002 Ford F250 truck uses 5W-20 oil. It should be full synthetic only. It can hold up to 6 quarts.
