Not needed as the thermostat is on top of the engine on the right.
The radiator hose coming out of the top of the radiator, the thermostat housing is on the engine side of this hose. Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. The upper rad hose is attached to the thermostat housing at the engine. You need to drain some coolant out of the radiator, remove upper hose from thermostat housing, remove the bolts attaching the housing to the engine, remove the housing and remove the thermostat. Take note which way the thermostat comes out, you want the spring end to go inside block.
The thermostat is in the housing where the top radiator hose goes into the engine. The Grill and drivers side headlight as well as the top hose need to be removed to gain access.
The theromstat is in the hose that is connected to the engine. It will have about 3 or 4 bolts, you need metric tools for it.
The thermostat for a 6 cylinder Ford pickup is in the top radiator hose inlet. The hose and inlet need to be removed to install the thermostat..
