∙ 14y agoI do not have a roster of the soldiers. You can research this with an on-line genealogy website and find their National Archive records.
In general, a regiment in the Civil War could have as many as 1000 men. After a few battles, their size was reduced to about 500 or even less. But also, if you want names of every soldier who served with this regiment over the 4 or 5 years, the TOTAL number could be 3 or 4 times that much. This is because soldiers were recruited to replace those who were killed or were sick. So the list of names would be very long.

ANSWER The 54th Regiment of Massachusetts Regiment (coloured) was formed of black troops. It was raised by by the Governor of Massachusetts John Andrews in March 1863, shortly after the Proclamation of Emancipation. As the black population had a small size, the rank were filled also by black volunteers coming from other states of the New England and from New York.
