I am raising tadpoles and I found mine at a small pond, and they are doing fine. I think pond water is best, but whatever you do, dont use tap water. Some tap water has chlorine in it that can harm the tadpoles
No, they can't climb. They need to be swimming in water.
Tadpoles need to develop their lungs before they can come out of water (at the beginning of their metamorphosis they have only gills).
heat food and fresh water
Hi! Tadpoles usually live in like 70 to 85 degrees. They can not have very cold water, or very warm water. Also, Tadpoles need quite alot of space, if you were to put tadpoles in a regular sized fish bowl, you could probably be able to fit about 4-5 tadpoles. Hope this helpd!
Tadpoles need to have macoroni in their habitat and diet coke
Tadpoles need to be left where they are because the frog lays the eggs where they are likely to have enough food and water to survive. You are unlikely to be able to reproduce that environment, so leave them where you found them.
yes
All amphibians have a life stage that occurs in water. They do not need to live in water. For example, toads come from eggs laid in water that turn to tadpoles and the tadpoles develop into toads that live almost exclusively on land.
As many species as there are of frogs, toads, newts, salamanders & axolotls. Tadpoles are the immature form of all these amphibians. Amphibians are animals that can live in water and breath oxygen thorugh their skins or gills but do need do breath occasionally, and need to return to water to breed. They lay eggs in the water - known as spawn - and this hatches into tadpoles.
so that they can grow in a nice healthy way
I am an expert on frogs and tadpoles. This is how to look after tadpoles: Don't give the tadpoles tap water because in that water there are 2 chemicals ( Fluoride and Chlorine ) that kill the tadpoles. So you should use either rain water or water from the creek/pond/river you got them from. If you want to use tap water, leave it out in full sunlight for 7 days. The chlorine and fluoride will evaporate. Tadpoles like to eat boiled lettuce that has been boiled for about 15 minutes. They also like to eat bread crumbs and fish food. Tadpoles grow faster in warm water. In cold water, they will still grow, but they will grow slower. When the tadpoles develop legs, put about 2 or 3 rocks( Depends on how many tadpoles you have) in the container. Put something on the top of the cointainer ( prefeably some sort of mesh ) so the froglets don't jump out.
